About Us

Our Story

The African Community Development Center (ACDC) is a non-profit organization headquartered in Bangor, Maine. We were founded on the belief that diversity strengthens communities and that refugees and asylum seekers deserve access to opportunities that allow them to thrive.

As Maine continues to welcome refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants from around the world and across the United States, ACDC serves as a bridge between newly arrived communities and the resources they need to succeed.

About Us

Our Story

Founded in March 2022, ACDC was established to respond to the growing needs of refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants resettling in the State of Maine. We believe in the power of inclusive communities and work to ensure that every individual has access to essential services, economic opportunities, and pathways to long-term self-sufficiency.
